Knowledge base Status

When it comes to biodiversity monitoring, the first step consists in gathering the knowledge on its state and evolution . Each year, numerous data and indicators on the conservation status of species are produced with different methodologies and in different formats which makes data sharing and analyses at a global scale more complicated. The Knowledge base « Status » is aimed at producing synthesis operable for everyone. It was implemented in order to centralise and standardize data used to infer on the status of species in the different programs supervised by the PatriNat unity: regulated species (protected species, European directives, international conventions), ZNIEFF, species assessed in the IUCN Red list, PNA (national strategic plan species), SCAP (protected areas creation strategy). Using this table, it is now possible to list all the status associated to a species in all its areas of application.
