Taille : ♂ 33-56 mm ; ♀ 33-48 mm
Diagnose : Les mâles de C. biloba sont facilement reconnaissables à leur protubérance céphalique aplatie et bifide et leurs élytres bruns portant des stries fortes. Les femelles se distinguent par la présence sur le pronotum d'une simple gibbosité.
Détermination : Facile, une photo suffit.
Espèces proches : Pas d'espèces proches en Guyane.
Période d'observation : Toute l'année mais plus abondant de février à mars et juillet à septembre.
Biologie-éthologie : Espèce saproxylophage dont les larves consomment du bois décomposé. Elles ont été signalées également des nids de fourmis Atta cephalotes L. (commensalisme possible).
Biogéographie et écologie : Espèce largement répandue depuis le Mexique jusqu'à l'Argentine.
