Diagnose : A. torulosus est une espèce noire et luisante, de petite taille, bien caractérisée par des interstries costuliformes, luisants, égaux et atteignant le calus apical.
Détermination : Difficulté moyenne, une observation des paramères à la loupe est indispensable.
Espèces proches : A. torulosus peut être confondu avec A. bituberculatus Dechambre qui diffère chez le mâle par un corps plus mat avec une ponctuation forte et dense et par un front excavé au milieu et chez la femelle par le sillon pronotal qui est plus étroit à la base et par les ponctuations du pygidium qui sont contigües.
