Trogossitidae vert ou bleuâtre à reflets métalliques, au pronotum un peu plus étroit que les élytres, fortement ponctués.
Détermination :
simple.
Période d’observation :
On peut observer les adultes de mi-mai à fin juillet.
Biologie-éthologie :
Les adultes se rencontrent le plus souvent sous les écorces de résineux, principalement des pins morts ou mourants Les larves sont prédatrices d’autres insectes saproxylophages et se nourrissent de larves de Scolytides, buprestides et Longicornes.
Biogéographie et écologie :
Espèce à répartition discontinue en Europe (Espagne , Canaries , Italie , France , Allemagne , Autriche , Croatie , Bosnie-Herzégovine , Slovaquie , Grèce , Bulgarie , Chypre , Russie centrale ). Elle s’étend à l’est jusqu’en Asie. Espèce peu commune.
