Plante herbacée annuelle de petite taille, grêle, prostrée ou ascendante. Les feuilles opposées sont oblongues, vertes. Fleurs très petites et discrètes, rose-pâle, bilabiées à lèvre inférieure trilobée. Elles sont portées par des pédoncules insérés à l'aisselle des feuilles, mais n'ont pas de bractéoles. Les 4 étamines sont fertiles.

Lindernia dubia est une très proche parente originaire d'Amérique du nord et très envahissante, qui ne se distingue de Lindernia procumbens que par ses 2 étamines fertiles accompagnées de 2 étamines stériles et son port ascendant (contre 4 étamines fertiles et un port couché pour Lindernia procumbens).

Biologie-éthologie
Espèce de thérophyte (plante herbacée annuelle) appartenant à la grande famille des Linderniaceae. Cette famille est morphologiquement proche des Plantaginaceae et des Scrophulariaceae. Lindernia procumbens est une espèce hermaphrodite, entomogame ou autogame.
Biogéographie et écologie
Espèce eurasiatique : de l'Europe de l'ouest à la Sibérie occidentale ; de la Turquie à l'Asie du sud-est. En France, cette espèce peu commune est présente en Alsace, en Anjou, dans le Centre jusqu'à la Bresse et le nord de l'Auvergne, dans le Périgord et en Aquitaine. Elle est fortement menacée. Lindernia procumbens pousse sur les grèves et rives exondées sableuses ou sablo-limoneuses des cours d'eau et des étangs de basse altitude.

Probable presence
This status is based on one or more of the following criteria:
search of species incomplete but presence of supportive environments;
ecology of the species consistent with the hypothesis of his presence;
the last reliable sighting is older than 10 years compared to the reference date, no recent specific research and no presumption of extinction from that date [vertebrates, invertebrates and plants well studied (rhopalocera, grasshoppers, dragonflies ...)] ;
the last reliable observation being older than 20 years, no recent specific research and no presumption of extinction from that date [poorly known taxa: fungus, many invertebrates...].
Probable or certain absence
This point covers the absence, more difficult by nature to demonstrate than presence. This status is based on one or more of the following criteria:
