Taille : 4-5 mm
Diagnose :
Corps court, hémisphérique, très convexe, couvert d’une longue pubescence blanche, peu luisant, élytres noirs, avant-corps et apex élytral rouge-orangé, pattes variées de noir et d’orange. Les antennes très courtes se terminent par une massue de 3 articles peu marquée. Le pronotum est très transverse, à ponctuation fine et peu dense, à bord latéral rectiligne, un peu plus étroit que les élytres.
Identification : Assez facile.
Confusions possibles :
La coloration est caractéristique.
Périodes d’observation (adultes) : Avril à octobre.
Biologie-éthologie :
La larve carnassière se nourrit de cochenilles. Les adultes se rencontrent sur les plantes basses et les buissons.
Biogéographie-écologie :
Espèce originaire d’Australie qui a colonisé la région méditerranéenne.

The map presents a summary at the 10 x 10 km grid of the observation data for the species transmitted to the SINP. These data have been subjected to validation filters.
The map presents a reference distribution layer of the species at the scale of departments and marine sectors. The presence and absence data were established by expertise within a network of partners. This reference distribution is used in the validation process of the SINP data at the INPN level.
