Taille :
Les adultes mesurent 24 à 28 mm.
Diagnose :
Le plus petit des Hespéries oranges d'Europe. Tête massive et antennes largement séparées à la base. Dessus des ailes fauve obscur avec une ligne androconiale noire chez le mâle et des taches oranges sur l'aile antérieure chez la femelle. Absence de bordure noire sur le dessus des ailes. Dessous orangé sans taches claire.
Détermination :
L'adulte est relativement simple à reconnaître.
Espèces proches :
Confusion possible avec les autres espèces du genre Thymelicus qui possèdent une bordure noire sur le dessus des ailes.
Période d'observation :
Lâadulte est visible de mai à août.
