Cette cavité constitue un site d'hibernation pour 10 espèces de chiroptères dont 6 inscrites à l'annexe II de la directive "habitats".
Ce site fait partie des 4 uniques sites d'hibernation du petit rhinolophe en Basse-Normandie.
Les effectifs présents confèrent à ce site un intérêt majeur à l'échelle régionale.
