62.342 - Sandstone slab pools

Classification des habitats du Paléarctique (2001)

Description

Pools, usually temporary, forming on siliceous or basaltic pavements, slabs and domes of lowlands, hills and mountains of nondesert regions of the Palaearctic. They may be colonized by highly specialized communities of units 22.21, 22.22, 22.27 and 22.3. Particularly remarkable are the "platiŠre" pools of sandstone slabs of southern Ile-de-France harbouring a highly unique flora and fauna, particularly of crustaceans.
