Description

Tufa springs in which the main tufa forming species is the moss Catoscopium nigritum, apparently limited to the northern Alpine piedmont, where they are rare, to the calcareous Alps, where they may be somewhat commoner, and to the mid-German ranges, where they are extremely rare and endangered, recorded from the Rh”n.
