Description

Open assemblies of herbaceous or suffrutescent pioneering plants colonizing alluvial and glacial gravels and sands inundated by rivulets and streams of the alpine and subalpine levels of the Alps. Characteristic plants include Epilobium fleischeri, Saxifraga bryoides, Gypsophila repens, Rumex cutatus, Trifolium pallescens, Astragalus sempervirens, Rhacomitrium canescens.
