Description

Shrubby formations, often tall, on mostly siliceous soils of the meso-Mediterranean zone of the Iberian peninsula, France, Italy, the large western Mediterranean islands and Mediterranean North Africa, degradation stages of evergreen oak forests. Very similar formations of the thermo-Mediterranean zone and of the eastern Mediterranean basin are included.
