Classification des habitats du Paléarctique (2001)

Description

Habitats, habitat complexes and landscapes dominated by accumulations of sand, rarely of silt or clay, deposited by aeolian processes and often possessing marked constructional relief, developed within the boreal, nemoral, steppic, warm-temperate humid, mediterranean or subdesert steppe zones, separated from the coast and its dune cordons by nondunal habitats. Unvegetated areas, algae-, lichen- or bryophyte-dominated pioneer communities and very sparse communities of higher plants are listed in this section. Other communities are noted by combination of units of this section with units from sections 3 or 4. Desert sands are excluded and listed under section 7.
