Descriptif officiel

Sheltered sublittoral mud or sandy mud in shallow water with relatively few conspicuous species may be characterised by the anemone Sagartiogeton undatus in low numbers and the tunicate Ascidiella aspersa. Other taxa may include Carcinus maenas, Pagurus bernhardus and terebellid polychaetes. The burrowing anemones Cerianthus lloydii may also be found occasionally. The status of this biotope is uncertain at present as it is not known whether it is an impoverished, disturbed or epifaunal variant of other sheltered, shallow mud biotopes such as A5.343 or if the areas in which it has been recorded have been incompletely surveyed.

Descriptif en français

Vase ou vase sableuse infralittorale abritée en eau peu profonde, avec relativement peu d’espèces remarquables, caractérisée par l’anémone Sagartiogeton undatus en faible nombre et par le tunicier Ascidiella aspersa. Les autres taxons représentés peuvent comprendre Carcinus maenas, Pagurus bernhardus et des polychètes térébellidés. L’anémone fouisseuse Cerianthus lloydii peut également être parfois présente. Le statut de cet habitat est actuellement incertain, car on ne sait pas s’il constitue une variante appauvrie, perturbée ou d’épifaune d’autres habitats de vase abritée en eau peu profonde, tels que A5.343, ou si les zones dans lesquelles on l’a observé ont été levées de manière incomplète.
