G1.A41 - Forêts de ravin médio-européennes

Medio-European ravine forests

Descriptif officiel

Atlantic and medio-European collinar and submontane forests of Fraxinus excelsior, Acer pseudoplatanus, Acer platanoides, Ulmus glabra, Tilia platyphyllos, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus robur, on unstable scree or colluvions of abrupt, shady and humid slopes, with abundant ferns, characterized by the presence of the ecological group of Asplenium scolopendrium, Mercurialis perennis. They are characteristic of the hills, mountains and plateaux associated with the Hercynian ranges, the Jura, the Northern Carpathians, the Alps, the hills of the Pannonic plain, within the range of the Fagion medio-europaeum. Sub-Atlantic forests of calcareous hills of the Paris Basin, of Burgundy, of the Plateau de Langres, somewhat intermediate between these formations and those of unit G1.A45 are included, in view of their restriction to situations of cool microclimates without marked summer drought, in particular, north-facing slopes and the lack of thermophilous species characteristic of the Tilenion platiphylli.

Forêts atlantiques et médio-européennes, collinéennes et submontagnardes, de Fraxinus excelsior, Acer pseudoplatanus, Acer platanoides, Ulmus glabra, Tilia platyphyllos, Fagus sylvatica, Quercus robur, sur éboulis ou colluvions instables, des pentes abruptes, ombragées et humides. Il y a une abondance de fougères, caractérisées par la présence du groupe écologique d’Asplenium scolopendrium, Mercurialis perennis. Ces forêts sont caractéristiques des collines, montagnes et plateaux liés aux massifs hercyniens, du Jura, des Carpates septentrionales, des Alpes, des collines de la plaine pannonienne, à l'intérieur de l'aire de répartition du Fagion medio-europaeum. Les forêts subatlantiques des collines calcaires du Bassin parisien, de Bourgogne, du plateau de Langres, quelque peu intermédiaires entre ces formations et celles de l'unité G1.A45, sont comprises dans cette unité, eu égard à leur localisation restreinte à des situations de microclimats frais sans sécheresse estivale marquée, en particulier, les pentes exposées au nord, et au manque d'espèces thermophiles caractéristiques du Tilenion platiphylli.
