Description

Willow scrub dominated by Salix purpurea ssp. lambertiana and Salix elaeagnos ssp. angustifolia of water courses of southern France, Italy and Mediterranean eastern Spain south to the Rio Segura basin; Salix purpurea and Salix triandra scrubs lining watercourses of mediterranean and submediterrean northwest Africa, the first extending south to the Anti-Atlas and Saharan Atlas, the second limited to eastern and middle northern Algeria.
