Description

Dwarf shrub communities, mostly ericaceous, forming on the top of drying hummocks of bogs of the nemoral, boreonemoral, lowland boreal and low montane boreal regions of the Palaearctic, often with the moss Polytrichum strictum, sometimes colonizing sphagnum hummocks forming in fens of the same regions.
