Description

Calciphile Fraxinus excelsior-Alnus glutinosa woods occupying inundated stream sides and hard water spring edges, in particular calcareous tuffs, of the collinar and montane Alpine periphery, characterized by an abundant herb layer dominated by Equisetum telmateia accompanied by Carex remota, Lysimachia nemorum, Cratoneuron filicinum, often with many humid grassland and tall herb elements, such as Mnium undulatum, Lamium galeobdolon, Brachypodium sylvaticum, Deschampsia cespitosa, Filipendula ulmaria, Cirsium oleraceum, and Caltha palustris.
