Embryonic dunes and upper beaches of the Mediterranean coasts dominated by Cyperus capitatus (Cyperus kallii), well developed in particular in the Aegean and the eastern Mediterranean, also present, notably, in Italy, on the Maltese Islands, in Languedoc, extinct in the Bouches-du-Rh“ne.
