Description

Salt meadows of inland salt basins of the nemoral zones of western Europe and eastern Asia. Continental saltmarshes of interior middle Europe are remarkable, extremely threatened communities occurring in a few isolated stations of Saxony and Lower Saxony, Schleswig-Holstein, Thuringe, Hesse, Lorraine, Auvergne, the Midlands and southeastern Poland (lower Nida valley). They comprise this unit and continental glasswort swards (unit 15.112).
