Description

Woods dominated by Taxus baccata, often with Ilex aquifolium, of very local occurrence in plains, hills and mountains of the Western Palaearctic nemoral zone and in the mountains of the Mediterranean basin, with isolated outliers in the southern and eastern Carpathian system and the northern Rhodopides (Mount Vitosha).
