Description

Sea-cliffs, their faces, ledges and associated caves, rocky shores and isolated seaside rocks of the tropical zone of the Atlantic, including the Cape Verde Islands and the southern coast of Mauritania, along which extends the major upwelling zone of the Canary Current. Tropical seabirds such as Phaethon aethereus, Sula leucogaster, Phalacrocorax carbo lucidus are characteristic. Calonectris edwardsii is endemic.
