Description

Schoenus nigricans-dominated or -rich communities of rich fens of humid dune slacks of the Dutch and German North Sea coasts and islands and of the North Sea and English Channel coasts of France, south to the Cotentin peninsula. These communities, which have undergone an extremely severe decline, are an important refuge of the threatened orchid Liparis loeselii, and of many other species of restricted distribution and ecology.
